Avalanche Activity

In some localities up to 15 cm of snow will fall above approximately 2800 m.

As the precipitation becomes more intense moist avalanches are to be expected, but they will be mostly small. High altitudes, especially in steep rocky terrain in all aspects above approximately 2800 m. The fresh wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence in all aspects. Apart from the danger of being buried, restraint should be exercised as well in view of the danger of avalanches sweeping people along and giving rise to falls.

Snowpack Structure

Above approximately 2800 m: In some localities 10 to 15 cm of snow will fall. As a consequence of new snow and a sometimes moderate wind, wind slabs will form since Tuesday in particular above approximately 2800 m. Above approximately 2600 m there are 150 to 200 cm of snow on north facing slopes.
