Forecast snow and moderate southwest wind will form wind slabs on lee features at treeline and above.
Danger may be considerable in localized areas that receive more than 20 cm of new snow.
On Sunday, a couple of cornice failures up to size 3 were reported on north and east aspects in the alpine.
Numerous naturally triggered wet loose avalanches up to size 3 were also reported on very steep, sunny aspects in the alpine.
Observations are currently very limited in this region. Please consider submitting a MIN to let us know what you're seeing out there.
Forecast snow and moderate southwest wind will form fresh wind slabs on lee features at treeline and above. The new snow will cover a hard crust that exists on all aspects to at least 2700 m.
Crusts from late March can be found down 20 to 80 cm, depending on elevation/aspect.
The mid and lower snowpack is well settled and strong in most areas.
