Highlights

The sometimes deep wind slabs of the last few days can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases in particular on wind-protected shady slopes above approximately 3000 m. The new snow can be released naturally in all aspects above approximately 2600 m. As the day progresses especially below approximately 2700 m there will be a gradual increase in the danger of wet avalanches.

Avalanche Activity

The sometimes deep wind slabs of the last few days can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases in particular on wind-protected shady slopes above approximately 3000 m. The new snow can be released naturally in all aspects above approximately 2600 m. As the day progresses especially below approximately 2700 m there will be a gradual increase in the danger of wet avalanches.

The surface of the snowpack will freeze very little and will soften quickly. As a consequence of warming during the day, the likelihood of moist and wet avalanches being released will increase gradually in all aspects in all altitude zones.

Snowpack Structure

In particular adjacent to ridgelines as well as at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs formed.
