Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable areas of windslab will remain above 900 metres in locations sheltered from the strong winds of late. Most affected will be West through North to North-East aspects. Below 900 metres there will be some consolidation. On windward aspects and locations exposed to the strong winds the snowpack will be scoured and generally stable. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: A generally dry day with the gale force South-Easterly winds easing slightly. The freezing level will be around 600 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight and through the day strong winds blew from the South-South-East. It was generally dry with a freezing level of around 400 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Although there was no fresh snowfall, there were large quantities of snow being re-distributed. Unstable deposits of windslab were being deposited on sheltered locations on West through North to North-East aspects above 800 metres. A substantial natural avalanche occurred on a North-West aspect at about 800 metres in the early hours of the morning. However, areas exposed to the strong winds tend to be scoured and stable. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
