As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures the snowpack consolidated. This applies in particular on steep sunny slopes at high altitude, and in all aspects at intermediate altitudes. The snowpack is fairly homogeneous and its surface has a strong crust. Hardly any more avalanches were reported. This situation gave rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack below approximately 2700 m. The amount of snow is subject to significant local variations. Especially on sunny slopes below the tree line no snow is lying. On shady slopes below the tree line hardly any snow is lying. Especially on the colder slopes above the treeline, in the valley basins and headlands that have been less affected by stormy winds in recent weeks, there is excellent snow cover. Weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack in particular at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions.
Monday: Until late morning the weather will be partly cloudy. Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be reduced.

The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust and will soften during the day. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface. As the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation there will be a gradual increase in the avalanche danger. Wet snow slides and avalanches are possible, even medium-sized ones. This applies in particular on very steep north facing slopes below approximately 2600 m, and on very steep east, south and west facing slopes at elevated altitudes. In high Alpine regions there will be an increase in the danger of moist and wet avalanches within the current danger level. Backcountry tours and ascents to alpine cabins should be started early and concluded timely.
