Over 1000 moh er snødekket mer vinterlig noen steder. I lavlandet er det lite snø. Kantkorn kan finnes i spredte lommer under fokksnø høyt til fjells.

Eldre svake lag av kantkorn som ligg dypt i snøen er vanskelige å påvirke.
