The old snowpack will be moist at lower altitudes, firmer near summits. New humid windslab possible on North to North East aspects above 950m but expected to be thin, localised. Cornices will soften and weaken overnight. Further snow loss at lower elevations by the end of the forecast period. The avalanche hazard will be Low

Forecast Weather Influences: Mild and wet at all levels overnight, then rapidly cooler in the early hours with light precipitation falling as snow down to 950m. Dry and remaining cool from dawn onwards. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight snow showers turning to sleet and rain after midday. Strong South South East winds. Cold overnight then progressively milder from late morning onwards. ObservedSnowStability: Localised accumulations of thin windslab on some very steep North West through North to North East aspects above 950m. Windslab was humid and well bonded at the time of reporting but was before the onset of milder temperatures and rain. Expanses of hard snow ice down to 800m on these aspects. Good stability in all other locations. The avalanche hazard is Low
