Some snow will fall. The avalanche prone locations are covered with new snow and are barely recognisable because of the poor visibility. In particular on steep slopes medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large slab avalanches are possible as a consequence of new snow and strong wind. The fresh and somewhat older wind slabs can be released even by a single winter sport participant at intermediate and high altitudes. Ski touring and other off-piste activities, including snowshoe hiking, call for careful route selection. As a consequence of falling temperatures, the natural activity of moist and wet avalanches will appreciably decrease.

Up to 60 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen since Saturday. The moderate wind has transported the new snow. Up to 20 cm of snow will fall from early morning above approximately 1500 m. The easterly wind will transport the new snow significantly. The new snow will be deposited on a crust in particular on sunny slopes at low and intermediate altitudes. Individual weak layers exist in the old snowpack especially on shady slopes.
