The existing snowpack will be subject to slow consolidation, but continues to present lingering weakness at depth in terrain such as coire headwalls. Lower elevations will be subject to slow thaw. Remaining cornices will be weak. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Snow showers are expected above 1000 metres throughout the forecast period. Winds will generally be strong South-South-Easterlies overnight, decreasing to become fresh later. The freezing level will be around 1100 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Persistent sleet and snow from around 1000 metres upwards, with rain at lower elevations. Winds were generally strong and from the South-East. The freezing level was around 1100 metres at midday. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack became increasingly wet as the day progressed. Saturated windslab contains lingering weaknesses at depth. This was present on South-West through West to North aspects above 900 metres, with areas such as gullies and coire headwalls being typical examples. Evidence of cornice debris was noted on a North-Westerly slope at 1000 metres. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
