Avalanche Summary

The few slopes you might be able to trigger a small avalanche are if you encounter stiff, wind-drifted snow just below a ridgeline. Even a small avalanche can be dangerous if it drags you into a creek or off a cliff. If you notice a hard, hollow feeling to the snow or see cracking in the snow as you travel across it, avoid steep slopes above consequential terrain.
