Generally safe avalanche conditions exists. The most dangerous slopes are at upper elevations where snow coverage is deeper and more widespread. Watch out for lingering pockets of wind-drifted snow above treeline and factor daily warming into your travel plans. Sunny skies and warm temperatures increase the chances of small wet avalanches on sunny slopes later in the day. Get in and out of the mountains early in the day for better travel conditions and to stay ahead of wet avalanche concerns.
