Avalanche Summary

Avoid steep slopes that receive direct sunlight and have not already shed snow. Within a couple of hours of sun, about 1 foot of cold snow above the crust is likely to be shed. Southerly slopes will be the most hazardous. Pay attention to slopes that are high above and might be receiving direct sunlight. If you see small roller balls starting at rocks or cliffs, head to shadier, cooler aspects.
