The small wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence on extremely steep shady slopes at elevated altitudes. As a consequence of the new snow loose snow avalanches are possible, but they will be mostly small. In many places there is a danger of falling on the icy crust. In all regions from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying.
Over a wide area 5 to 25 cm of snow has fallen since Thursday above approximately 1000 m. The fresh wind slabs have formed adjacent to ridgelines. In some places new snow is lying on an icy crust. The Avalanche Warning Service currently has only a small amount of information that has been collected in the field, so that the avalanche danger should be investigated especially thoroughly in the relevant locality.
