Avalanche Summary

The most dangerous slopes are where you encounter wind-drifted snow on slopes facing northwest through north to east or southeast at higher elevations. Even a small avalanche in the recently wind-drifted snow could step down to deeper weak layers here, growing into a large and deadly avalanche. You can find safer options in wind-sheltered terrain on slopes facing the south half of the compass or by sticking to low-angle slopes on aspects of concern.
