Avalanche Summary

Expect rising avalanche conditions in the Flat Top Mountains as a winter storm system moves into the area. You can trigger an avalanche on steep north through northeast-facing slopes at high elevations. Use extra caution if you find freshly deposited snow drifts sitting on the snow from October below ridgelines. Snow that supports your weight and feels hollow, cracks, or collapses are all signs that you found a problematic slope. Consider moving to lower-angle terrain.
