Highlights

Areas of instablity persist at the mid and upper elevations. Yesterday two soft slabs were skier triggered on a northerly aspect at an elevation of 8,500 feet in the Cache Creek drainage. These slabs failed, one sympathetically, on a weak buried layer of faceted snow with a crown depth of three feet. Similar events could be triggered today especially in previously unskied steep north facing avalanche terrain, cliff areas and very steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones. Avalanches are unlikely at the lower elevations except in isolated pockets.
