Highlights

The avalanche hazard is LOW today at all elevations. New snow lies upon hard crusts at the mid and upper elevations and could be human triggered today in steep avalanche terrain in the form of loose snow sloughs and in the form of isolated pockets of shallow surface slabs. If significant sunlight and warming occur today the sensitivity of the new snow will increase and wet slide activity at all elevations will become possible. On Thursday a large slab avalanche was triggered on an east face at high elevations during the warmest part of the day.
