Highlights
Strong overnight and continuing winds with a few inches of new snow are creating slabs to eighteen inches in depth on lee slopes at mid and upper elevations. These slabs are building on slick crusts and will be sensitive to triggers by backcountry users. There is the potential to pull out deeper slabs from the weekend winds. At low elevations drifting snow will increase the avalanche danger in steep areas like ravines. .
