Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Yesterday a skier triggered a five foot deep hard slab as he approached a steep wind loaded easterly facing starting zone on Angle Mountain at an elevation of 10,280 feet. This slab is believed to have stepped down into weak old snow layers. In Fish Creek Drainage at an elevation of approximately 7,000 feet several isolated pockets of soft slab 18 inches in depth were reported to have released naturally on steep wind loaded aspects. Similar events could be triggered today.
