Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Three days of strong northwest winds have formed surface slabs up to two feet deep in steep wind loaded starting zones. These slabs lie upon weak layers of faceted snow and deeper persistant layers of instability. These slabs could be human triggered today and have the potential to step down to deep weak layers or the ground. These slabs could be crossed multiple times before an avalanche is triggered.
