Highlights

At the mid and upper elevations hard slabs to four feet in depth lie in avalanche terrain. The slabs rest on faceted snow that continues to lose strength on northerly aspects. Backcountry skiers triggered a large, hard slab avalanche on the North side of Shadow Peak in Grand Teton National Park Saturday. At low elevations, avalanches are unlikely in the shallow snowpack.
