Highlights

Exceptional daytime heat and few or no overnight freezes continue to weaken the snowpack. Many slides will continue to occur in this very unpredictable situation. Morning surface crusts will rapidly soften and the chance for wet avalanches will increase during the day on steep, snow covered slopes. Stay out of runout zones and gullies in the afternoon. The potential for cornices to collapse and start avalanches will also increase on the higher peaks.
