Avalanche Activity

Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found in steep terrain at elevated altitudes.

The small wind slabs can still be released in some cases especially on extremely steep shady slopes above approximately 2100 m. As a consequence of warming during the day, the likelihood of moist avalanches being released will increase gradually on rocky sunny slopes. Isolated mostly small dry and moist avalanches are possible.

Snowpack Structure

The wind was moderate to strong in the vicinity of peaks. In high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Towards its base, the snowpack is faceted and weak. Also at intermediate and high altitudes from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.
