Forecast Snow Stability: The patchy existing snowpack will continue thawing. It will remain stable. Any fresh deposits will be wet and are not expected to be particularly extensive. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: A wild day is expected with storm force Southerly winds and heavy rain. The freezing level will be above the summits throughout. However, it may be cold enough for the rain to turn to wet snow on the highest summits for a time. Observed Weather Influences: After a dry night, showers during the day fell as wet snow above about 1000 metres. The freezing level was around 1150 metres, dropping slightly during the afternoon. Gale force winds were from the South-West. ObservedSnowStability: The wet patchy snowpack started to freeze at higher levels, above about 1150 metres. Below this it continued to slowly thaw. In both cases it was well consolidated and stable. Fresh deposits through the day were shallow and stable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
