In particular very steep slopes and base of rock walls: As a consequence of the new snow small to medium-sized loose snow avalanches are possible. In particular on shady slopes these can be released in the faceted old snow. As a consequence of a moderate to strong southwesterly wind, mostly small wind slabs will form in the afternoon in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls, especially on extremely steep slopes. The fresh snow as well as the wind slabs are lying on the unfavourable surface of an old snowpack on shady slopes. They can be released. In particular in the regions neighbouring those that are subject to danger level 3 (considerable) the avalanche prone locations are more widespread. Sometimes the avalanches are medium-sized and can be released by a single winter sport participant. Caution is to be exercised at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack.
Over a wide area 10 cm of snow, and up to 30 cm in some localities, will fall on Thursday above approximately 2000 m. As a consequence of a moderate to strong southwesterly wind, soft wind slabs will form on Thursday. In all aspects snow depths vary greatly above approximately 2200 m, depending on the infuence of the wind. Below approximately 1800 m from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying. On steep sunny slopes below approximately 2500 m a little snow is lying. The snowpack is not distinctly layered. Shady slopes: The snowpack consists of faceted crystals. Tuesday: The weather conditions gave rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular on very steep sunny slopes. Several mostly small moist avalanches have been released as a consequence of warming.
