Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will remain stable, softening slightly and gradually melting. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: The freezing level will be above the summits throughout the forecast period. Overnight winds will be near gale South-Easterly before veering Southerly and moderating as the day progresses. Precipitation will be minimal with only light snow flurries later in the day at the highest levels. Observed Weather Influences: A blue sky sunny day with light South-Easterly winds which strengthened as the day progressed. Freezing at all levels initially, the freezing level rose to around 700 metres at midday. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is well bonded and stable. Shaded aspects are generally very firm with a surface layer of ice in places. Aspects exposed to the sun softened during the day. Greatest accumulations of snow are on North and Easterly aspects. Little snow below 600 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
