Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will be present, mainly on North-East through South-East to South-West aspects above 900 metres. Wind sheltered locations, corrie rims, gully tops and scarp slopes will be particularly affected. Also here, fragile cornices will be starting to build. Otherwise, there will be a covering of dry unconsolidated snow with the odd deeper drift down to low levels. Exposed terrain will be scoured. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Continuing cold with light snow showers, mainly overnight at all levels. Winds, North-North-West throughout, gale to storm force overnight but expected to ease during the day. Observed Weather Influences: A cold day with snow showers at all levels. Gale to storm force winds from the North-West. ObservedSnowStability: Areas of unstable windslab continue to develop mainly on North-East through South-East to South aspects above 900 metres. Deepest accumulations are to be found in steep, wind sheltered locations such as around corrie rims and in gully tops. Elsewhere, there is a covering of dry unconsolidated snow with deeper drifts down to lower levels. Many exposed aspects are scoured. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
