Forecast Snow Stability: Through the period windslab will continue to be deposited on North-East to South-East aspects above 900 metres with some cross-loading affecting North aspects. Although these areas of windslab will not be particularly extensive, they are expected to be poorly bonded. Below this altitude localised shallow accumulations will form. On other aspects the snowpack will tend to be very shallow. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Snow showers will continue overnight and through the day. Strong Westerly winds. The freezing level will be around 400 metres. Observed Weather Influences: It was a showery day with snow falling above 800 metres. The freezing was around 1000 metres through much of the day. Strong Westerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: Areas of moderately bonded windslab have been deposited in wind sheltered locations on North-East to South-East aspects above 1000 metres. In general these areas are not particularly deep or extensive. Below 1000 metres the snowpack is wet and stability has improved. On other aspects the snowpack tends to be very shallow. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
