Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will become more widespread on North to East then later South-Easterly aspects above 1000 metres. Steep wind sheltered terrain will be most affected especially the tops of gullies, coire rims and crag aprons. Unstable windslab will be more localised on these aspects below 1000 metres. Fragile cornices will continue to develop. Cross loading will affect other areas. Elsewhere will be mostly wind scoured and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.
Forecast Weather Influences: Snow showers will continue throughout the forecast period. Strong to gale force South-Westerly winds will veer to become North-Westerly, easing through the afternoon. The 400 metre freezing level will rise to 600 metres during the morning, later falling back to 400 metres by the end of the day. Observed Weather Influences: Snow showers throughout the day on gale force West-South-Westerly winds. The freezing level was at 600 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Localised accumulations of unstable windslab have developed on North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. The greatest instability is mainly within steep and convex terrain, around gully exits, crag aprons and coire rims. Fragile cornices are developing on these aspects. Isolated windslab observed on other aspects due to cross loading. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
