Avalanche Activity

The backcountry touring conditions are spring-like. Old wind slabs at high altitude.

In the last few days wind slabs formed in particular at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions. The fresh wind slabs are mostly very small and can only be released in isolated cases. A clear night will be followed in the early morning by favourable avalanche conditions, but the danger of wet avalanches will increase later.

Snowpack Structure

Less snow than usual is lying. On sunny slopes below approximately 2600 m from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying. Faceted weak layers exist in the old snowpack especially on steep shady slopes.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
