The fresh wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence.
On steep northwest, northeast and east facing slopes and above approximately 2400 m small and medium-sized dry slab avalanches are possible as a consequence of the new snow. The fresh wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant. Even a small avalanche can sweep people along and give rise to falls. Above approximately 2800 m the avalanche prone locations are more prevalent and larger.
25 to 30 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell in the last few days above approximately 2000 m. The sometimes strong wind has transported the new snow significantly. This applies in particular above approximately 2800 m. The fresh snow and the wind slabs are poorly bonded with the old snowpack in some places.
