Forecast Snow Stability: A light covering of new snow will persist on most aspects above 500 metres. Isolated pockets of windslab will exist on steep North through East to South-East aspects, mainly above 700 metres. In some locations, this will be overlying firm old snow, but in general, it will be shallow, soft and avoidable. The old snow will be well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Scattered snow showers overnight will peter out to give a largely dry and bright day with some sunny periods and light Northerly winds. The freezing level will peak at 800 metres in the afternoon, rising from 400 metres overnight. Observed Weather Influences: A band of heavy snow crossed the area in the morning, followed by scattered snow showers. The wind was a light to moderate South-Westerly. The freezing level slowly rose from glen levels to around 450 metres by early afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: There is a light covering of new snow on most aspects above 500 metres. Shallow isolated pockets of windslab are building on steep wind sheltered North to East aspects, mainly above 700 metres, mostly lying on bare ground and generally avoidable. The old limited snow cover remains firm and well bonded. The avalanche hazard is Low.
