The fresh wind slabs represent the main danger.
The new snow of the last few days is poorly bonded with the old snowpack in particular on northeast to north to northwest facing aspects above approximately 2000 m. The fresh snow and the resulting wind slabs can be released easily or naturally. On very steep slopes small and medium sized avalanches are possible as a consequence of the new snow. Even a small avalanche can sweep snow sport participants along and give rise to falls.
15 to 20 cm of snow, and up to 25 cm in some localities, will fall above approximately 1400 m. The fresh snow of the last few days and the scattered mostly small wind slabs are lying on a crust. The meteorological conditions will prevent a rapid strengthening of the near-surface layers.
