Shifting wind directions with incremental snow this week have left textured surfaces in most exposed terrain at upper elevations. Most of these wind slabs are only 3-4 inches deep and don't present much of a hazard. So use your probe or pole to check the depth of this wind-drifted snow and focus on avoiding areas where you find these stiff snow layers to be greater than 6 inches deep. Ridgelines, rocky outcrops, confined gullies, or convex slopes are spots where triggering an avalanche will be more likely. Actively blowing snow and drifts behind objects can help you identify which slopes may have fresh wind slabs. While most avalanches would likely be small, they can still bury you deeply in ravines or knock you over in "no fall" terrain. If you suspect a feature to be wind-loaded, it will be safest to steer around it.
