As the temperature drops there will be only a very slight increase in the danger of wet avalanches. As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures the snow drift accumulations will stabilise.
On very steep sunny slopes crampons are useful
On extremely steep sunny slopes small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible. In the evening as the temperature drops there will be only a very slight increase in the danger of wet avalanches. On shady slopes the danger of moist and wet avalanches is lower. Individual gliding avalanches can also be released in the night or in the morning, in particular on extremely steep grassy slopes below approximately 2700 m. Areas with glide cracks are to be avoided as far as possible. The sometimes moderate wind has transported the old snow. The mostly small wind slabs of Tuesday can be released by a single winter sport participant at high altitude, in particular at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, when entering gullies and bowls for example in particular in high Alpine regions.
Sunshine and high temperatures gave rise on Tuesday to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular on very steep sunny slopes in particular at low and intermediate altitudes. Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be good. As a consequence of high temperatures and solar radiation the snowpack settled during the last few days. Shady slopes: The upper section of the snowpack is dry and has a loosely bonded surface. As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures and solar radiation a crust formed on the surface during the last two days, in particular below approximately 2700 m on very steep sunny slopes. The various wind slabs have bonded generally well with the old snowpack. In all aspects snow depths vary greatly above approximately 2400 m, depending on the infuence of the wind. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas and at high altitude a little snow is lying.
