Little new fallen snow.

Low avalanche danger.

The avalanche risk is low. Small slab avalanches can be triggered in extremely steep gullies and bowls in isolated places at high altitudes.

There is still little snow. The snowpack is damp or crusted can form in places. In the higher elevations, angular snow crystals continue to weaken the stability on shady slopes.

In the evening, the stormy northerly wind weakens and turns to the south-west, with a warm front approaching from the west. In the second half of the night, the south-westerly wind picks up and blows strongly to gale force in the morning. On the northern side of the Alps, the peaks will be covered in clouds in the morning and there will be some new fallen snow. There will be sunny clearing in the afternoon. On the southern side of the Alps, some clouds will pass over the summits, with sunny clear spells in between. It will remain mostly free of precipitation. It will be warmer at all altitudes. At 2000 metres, temperatures will rise from -10 to -4 degrees, at 1500 metres from -8 to -1 degrees. The snowfall level will be between low altitudes and 800 metres.

The north-westerly weather conditions will continue on Tuesday. There will be no precipitation on the southern side of the Alps. The wind will remain strong to stormy. No significant change in the avalanche danger.
