Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found in high Alpine regions.

Currently there are favourable conditions mostly. In these regions the avalanche prone locations are rare. This applies in particular on extremely steep shady slopes in high Alpine regions. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation there will be only a very slight increase in the avalanche danger. These weather conditions will give rise to moistening of the snowpack in some cases at intermediate and high altitudes. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Below approximately 2800 m: The snowpack is fairly homogeneous and its surface has a melt-freeze crust. Above approximately 3300 m, shady slopes: The snowpack is dry and its surface consists of loosely bonded snow lying on a crust that is strong in many cases. As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures the snowpack consolidated. This applies in particular on steep sunny slopes at high altitude, and in all aspects at intermediate altitudes. Below approximately 2300 m only a little snow is lying on south facing slopes.

Further warming. Gradual increase in danger of moist and wet avalanches in the course of the day.
