Above approximately 900 m snow has fallen. In particular low and intermediate altitudes, steep sunny slopes: The new snow is lying on top of a quite favourable old snowpack. High altitudes and the high Alpine regions: In some cases new snow is lying on the soft surface of an old snowpack. In particular at elevated altitudes snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular at low and intermediate altitudes.

5 to 15 cm of snow has fallen above approximately 2000 m. The avalanche prone locations are covered with new snow and are difficult to recognise. The somewhat older wind slabs can be released, especially by large additional loads, on steep shady slopes at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions. This applies in particular at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, when entering gullies and bowls for example. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation moist and wet avalanches are possible as the day progresses, in particular medium-sized ones.
