Forecast Snow Stability: The significant deposits of unstable windslab which exists on North to East aspects above 1000 metres will become wet throughout during the period. Avalanches will be likely in these locations and cornices above these aspects will be prone to collapse. However, windward aspects will tend to be scoured and stability will be better. Forecast Weather Influences: It will be mild with the freezing level remaining above the summits. There will be rain though out the period, heavy at times. Winds will strong Southerly Observed Weather Influences: Snow showers overnight and during the morning gradually turned to rain through the afternoon. The freezing rose from around 600 metres early morning to summit level by late afternoon. Winds were from the South-West.
