Forecast Snow Stability: Localised areas of unstable windslab will be present mainly on North-West through North to East aspects above 850 metres. Features such as gullies, corrie rims and ridge flanks will be most affected. There will be some consolidation in this windslab through the period and stability will slowly improve. Fragile cornices will be present mainly above these aspects. Elsewhere snowpack stability will be good. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Mainly dry with very occasional showers falling as snow only on the higher summits. Fresh East-South-Easterly winds. The freezing level will rise to just above the highest summits. Observed Weather Influences: It was a mainly dry day with moderate South-Easterly winds. The freezing level rose to around 600 metres.
