Long Range Mountains, Corner Brook, Gros Morne, Northern Peninsula.
Generally safe avalanche conditions are expected due to a rain crust capping the snowpack.
Heavy rain likely caused a natural cycle of wet avalanches on Saturday, but by Sunday avalanches will be unlikely due to dropping temperatures.
Pay attention to the bond of new snow to the crust, as isolated pockets of unstable snow may be found.
A widespread rain crust will form on Saturday night, followed by about 5 cm of snow on Sunday. You may find some deeper wind-blown deposits of soft snow above the crust. The snowpack is strong and bonded with typical depths of 100 cm in wind-sheltered areas.
