Highlights

Strong west-northwest winds have formed new soft slabs to two feet in depth on leeward aspects at the upper elevations. With strong ridgetop winds in the forecast today these slabs will continue to build as the day progresses and are likely to be easily triggered by humans who venture into steep wind loaded starting zones. At the mid elevations pockets of slabs up to one foot in depth clould also be triggered in very steep wind loaded starting zones. At the lower elevations a mostly stable snowpack exists.
