Avalanche Summary

You might trigger a slab avalanche on higher-elevation wind-drifted slopes that face north, east, and south. On northerly-facing sloopes, any avalanche you trigger in the newly drifted snow could break deeper, creating a much larger slide. Steer around smooth rounded surfaces or stiff, hollow slabs below ridges or the sides of steep gullies. Lower-angle, wind-sheltered slopes will provide safer riding options. Expect to push small loose avalanches by mid-morning, first on east then south and west-facing terrain.
