Avalanche Summary
An Avalanche Warning is in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon for the southern San Juan Mountains from the La Plata Mountains to Wolf Creek Pass to Cumbres and La Manga Passes. Heavy snowfall and strong winds will result in extremely dangerous avalanche conditions. It will be very easy to trigger large, destructive, and unsurvivable avalanches. Very large avalanches will also release naturally, and may be much larger and run much further than expected, impacting valley bottoms and lower elevations. Avoid all avalanche terrain during this time period.
