Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Strong west winds have formed dense new slabs to two feet in depth on leeward slopes. These surface slabs lie on a very weak snow pack and are expected to be easily triggered by backcountry users in steep wind loaded avalanche prone terrain. Once triggered they could pull out deeper layers of snow to the ground.
