Avalanche Summary

A blustery storm with strong winds and a few inches of snow will create small slabs on leeward terrain features, especially in the northern portion of the range. These will generally be easy to manage, but could form in unique places. This problem overlaps with certain north- and easterly aspects and a more concerning Persistent Slab problem, so be careful. The most likely places to trigger an avalanche are below ridges, in concave bowl features, and along gully walls. By steering clear of steep, wind-drifted slopes, you will greatly reduce your chances of being caught in a slide.
