With over a foot of new storm snow, you can easily trigger avalanches on steep northerly and easterly-facing slopes. These will be larger in drifted areas, where new slabs could be many feet thick. With a weak and variable snowpack, be prepared to trigger avalanches from a distance away. Conservative terrain choices are essential to help stay safe.
