Avalanche Summary

You are most likely to trigger an avalanche on slopes with wind-drifted snow. Use caution around rounded pillows of snow that may crack when weighted. The most drifting is on east-, southeast-, and south-facing slopes, but you should be on the watch for cross-loading in gullies and around terrain breaks on other aspects. You can find safer riding on sheltered slopes where the snow isn't wind-affected.
