Avalanche Summary

You can trigger a dangerous avalanche on hard, dense, wind-drifted snow near and above treeline. You might be able to travel across a slope multiple times before finding the shallow trigger point, most likely along the edges of the slope or on a convex rollover. Identify and avoid smooth, hard, wind-loaded slopes facing north, northeast, and east. Stick to wind-sheltered slope below treeline for safer travel options.
