Avalanche Summary

Dangerous avalanche conditions exist. You can trigger a large and dangerous avalanche on many slopes facing the northern half of the compass, especially near and above treeline. In large, high-elevation avalanche paths, any avalanche you trigger could break all the way to weak layers near the ground, bringing the whole snowpack down the mountain. Conservative decision-making is essential. Avoid traveling on or directly under steep slopes facing aspects of concern and identify and avoid steep slopes with wind-drifted snow on the lee sides of ridgelines.
